The achievable speed remains dependent on your drives, cable, network and the amount of small files.

Who is it for?
It is especially useful if you move large folders and want to check transfers afterwards. For a few separate documents, the built-in copy function is often sufficient.
Getting started
Choose the current Windows version for Windows 10 or 11. The provider offers a separate older version and a Mac version; the version numbers and possibilities may vary.
Privacy
With a local copy, the files remain on the selected disks. A network location follows the rights of that server. Transfer history may contain file names and folderads.
Good to know
The free release does not contain all Pro functions. Verification reads data again and may therefore take longer than just copying.

First use copy instead of move in an important archive. Check the results and open some files before deleting the original folder.

Our verdict
TeraCopy mainly adds control and recovery capabilities to large file transfers. Choose for insight into errors and verification, without assuming that each copy becomes faster.
TeraCopy is especially worth considering when you move a lot of data and want to be able to assess afterwards what happened. Verification and log are more important than just the progress bar. Check with files of different sizes how that extra step fits into your M.O. For a small daily copy, the ordinary file manager can be sufficient; for an archive transfer control is more difficult.
