Snagit 2026.3.1 for Windows stores cursor and text information better when sharing original SNAGX files to Camtasia Online. Share by email opens the window again. A recording toolbar crash and an unsafe search path have been fixed; OpenSSL has been updated to 3.6.3. The minimum recording interval is now three seconds.

Our verdict

Snagit is especially useful when you regularly explain and the finish is important. The program helps to make a recording a useful instruction image instead of just copying the screen. In the case of recurrent manuals, this targeted working method gives a lot of attention to loose actions.

For a few screenshots per month, a free tool is probably enough. Therefore, look at your production process before choosing a subscription. Test scrolling recordings, export and any step functions with your real material. Also check what stays local and what goes via the cloud. The added value is mainly in frequently used explanations, not in the number of buttons available.
