Audiate connects text to spoken audio, so you can perform operations from the transcript. The current service also offers AI parts for voices and video, depending on the plan.

Voice recognition can misread names and professional terms. Check the sound after any larger text editing.

Editing through a transcript makes it easier to find spoken passages. Check recognition of names and technical terms before selecting text. Listen also to the transition after a cut; a logically removed sentence can audiblely end abruptly.

Maintain the original recording and check which functions work locally or via a service. A cleaned up transcript is not automatically a pleasant sounding voice-over. Tempo, pauses and breathing remain part of the assessment.

Version and updates

For Audiate, check the version number of the release you are actually installing. The versions for Windows, macOS do not have to run the same.

If you want to mount voice or music, see if you need multiple tracks at once, adjust effects during playback or cut a recording quickly. A transcription editor can save time with spoken text, but does not replace all functions of a multitrack audio editor.

Our verdict

Audiate is interesting when you edit a lot of spoken explanations. The text view helps find passages, but listen back transitions to avoid unnatural cutting. Check which languages and online functions are within your plan. For confidential recordings, data processing is a more important choice than just the speed of transcription.
