Looking for an alternative to powerMAX?Compare OCCT, HeavyLoad, BurnInTest.Compare alternativespowerMAX performs a burn-in test on your processor, video card or both simultaneously. The aim is to achieve high heat development and high power consumption. You don't get a benchmark score that allows you to rank the speed of computers.
The combined test also loads the power supply and power supply on the motherboard. CPUID explicitly warns that weak parts can be permanently damaged. This is therefore a tool for a targeted hardware test, not a program to make your PC faster.

A heavy load can reveal problems with cooling or power supply that do not occur during light use. First check if fans are working and if the computer can cool enough. Keep an eye on the system during testing.
A fixer points to a problem under that load, but does not automatically tell which part is the cause. Stop in case of abnormal behavior and investigate the institutions. Do not use a stress test as evidence that any possible scenario of use will be stable.
Version and updates
Version 1.00. Released on 10-01-2017. Version 1.00 is the first edition of the burn-in test. The app generates heat and power consumption, but does not calculate performance or stability score. Check cooling and feeding before starting the load.
Compare powerMAX with alternatives
For a stability study, you need different information than for a performance comparison. A stress test load components are long-lasting, while a benchmark provides a score for a given test. Follow temperatures and use the correct component test; a single successful run does not exclude every hardware problem.

| powerMAXYou are viewing this app | You charge processor and graphics card to view temperature and stability behaviour. It's a stress test and not a replacement for a full diagnosis. | WindowsFree to use |
| OCCTView this alternative | You load and test various PC components with monitoring and error control. You can focus on which part of it causes problems under tax. | Windows, LinuxFreemium |
| HeavyLoadView this alternative | You charge components such as processor, memory and disk with adjustable tests. This helps to see how a system reacts to persistent loads. | WindowsFree to use |
| BurnInTestView this alternative | You test multiple hardware parts with a commercial diagnostic package. The functions and test options depend on your edition. | Windows, LinuxPaid |

Our verdict
powerMAX fits a specific question about cooling or stability under heavy load. You have to follow temperatures and decide when to stop. The test doesn't assess those circumstances for you.
Do not start with maximum combined load if the operation of cooling or food is already questionable. Moreover, a successful session does not prove that each app will work stablely. For daily insight into temperatures, a monitor is sufficient; this app has added value only when you deliberately want to generate a heavy load and assess the impact.
