Octt provides targeted load tests for different computer components. For example, you can press the processor, memory or video card and track temperatures and error messages simultaneously. This will help you investigate whether a system remains stable under load.

A stress test deliberately requires a lot of your hardware. Ensure sufficient cooling and interrupt a test at unusual temperatures or behaviour. The Personal Edition is intended for personal use; business usage and additional functions have different license terms.

You get recovery for the test intensity shown and the corrections from the previous maintenance update.

  • The adjusted intensity in Steady mode is no longer displayed as zero during execution.
  • The cleaning of dependencies has been taken over without re-executing the previously reversed Unreal Engine update.
  • The previous 17.1.4 correction prevents incorrect Linpack error messages on recent AMD processors.

You get a custom test environment that should avoid problems with Intel Arc driver dynamometers, while maintaining the reliability improvements from the 17.1 series.

  • Unreal Engine's upgrade has been reversed to version 5.4 due to critical issues in Intel Arc Driver.
  • The improvements for reliability from the 17.1 series have been transferred to this build. So you don't have to stick with the problematic engine version.
17.1.2

You will receive corrections for combined tests, GPU detection and the Linux updater.

Octt 17.1.2 prevents combined CPU and CPU+RAM tests from stopping each other unintentionally. The GPU idletimer will be disabled if there is no GPU and the updater on Linux has been corrected.

Our verdict

Octt is useful when you want to study stability instead of just seeing a performance score. You can load parts specifically and see if problems come back. This is particularly relevant after a hardware change or in case of errors that occur only during heavy tasks.

Choose a test that matches your question. Loading everything at the same time doesn't automatically make a problem easier to locate. Start with default settings and capture what you're changing. A successful test is valuable information, but no guarantee that every game or app always works flawlessly. For everyday use, you don't have to tax your computer regularly.
