You can use CPU-Z before buying memory, when comparing a offered computer or when you need technical support. You don't have to be a pushover for it. But it helps when you keep concepts like memory channel, timings and clock frequency apart.

View the tabs for CPU, Mainboard and Memory. Write down exact model names if you want to find matching parts later.

An exported report contains details of your hardware. Check the contents before you share it publicly. Online validation is a separate operation where you send information; you don't need to use it to read local specifications. Limit a help request to the relevant tabs or report items.

A loose clock value can change during use. You cannot determine which upgrade is always compatible based on a single screen.

Do not simply compare DDR memory values with the number on the package: clock frequency and transfer speed are expressed differently. A low CPU clock at rest can be part of energy saving. Therefore, from a single snapshot, do not draw any conclusion that a part is working wrong.
