ghostwriter

ghostwriter is a text editor for Markdown. You write headers, links and lists with simple character codes and see how formatting is displayed next to your text. Because you work in plain text files, you can also open your documents with other editors and save them in version manager.

Focus mode helps you focus on the active text section. You can view writing statistics and change the appearance. This fits well with articles, documentation and longer notes for which you do not need a complete text editor with page layout.

For export, ghostwriter uses built-in support and, depending on the desired format, external Markdown processors such as Pandoc. Check those dependencies before you assume that every export format works immediately. Save images in a fixed place: a Markdown link to a moved image will not be restored automatically. The mentioned KDE Gear version concerns the current Linux edition.
