Elisa is a KDE music player for your own audio files. You browse albums, artists and genres, or open files from their folder. The player focuses on listening and the clear offering of your collection; you will not receive a streaming subscription or music offer included.

A well-filled music library makes a difference. If album artists or track numbers are missing, a compilation album may be distributed or appear in an illogical order. Update such tags with a separate program when your collection is messy. Elisa can then re-record the updated files in your library.

Besides local music you can use internet radio. That connection runs to the chosen radio service. The version described here belongs to KDE Gear on Linux; other distribution channels can offer an older build. Preferably use an appropriate package from your distribution or KDE's official distribution link on Linux.

Getting started

Good to know

No streaming catalog included. Library depends on good tags. Package version differs by Linux distribution

Please note

Our verdict

Elisa is a logical choice if you already have your music as files and want to listen above all. The added value is in the overview, not in dozens of additional management functions. First make your collection recognizable with correct tags; this results in more than constantly adding folders again. If you are looking for advanced tag editing or automatic file organization, combine Elisa with a separate tool.
