PhotoFiltre 7 offers basic retouch, selections, filters and layers. It allows you to crop photos, customize colors and create simple composite images. The interface is traditional and requires little decor before you start.

This free line is not the same as PhotoFiltre Studio. The licensing conditions differ for private, non-commercial and commercial use. The 7 series is an older line and does not have the development empo of modern editors.

Save Layers for a Next Operation

Save an editable project copy before exporting a photo with text or different layers. A merged JPEG does not give you the same possibilities to change only the text. In addition, check the license for your use: the free 7-series is intended for private use and non-commercial organizations; professional use requires a Studio X licence according to the creator.

Our verdict

PhotoFiltre 7 can still be useful for simple operations if you already know the operation. You can open, correct and save an image without creating an extensive catalog. Especially in small tasks, that directness is pleasant.

For a new fixed photo mode we would look at actively developed alternatives. The older product line and license limits are more important than the fact that the download is available for free. Also check that your desired file formats are working properly. Choose PhotoFiltre 7 especially consciously for an existing preference or a simple task, not as a natural replacement for a modern photo package.
