You get improvements for high resolutions, filter examples and paste.

LazPaint 7.3 improves display on high pixel density screens. You can turn on and off filter previews and expand the canvas when paste. Also problems with empty printing and vertical text selections have been solved.

Our verdict

LazPaint fits well with small designs and image editing for which you need layers, but does not want to set up an extensive production work environment. You can keep parts separate and therefore adjust more directionally than in a fully flat image.

The choice depends mainly on the tools you need every day. Try a real project, like an image with text and a few signed parts, and check the export. For complex illustrations or printed matter, the limit can be seen more quickly. If your tasks remain modest, the smaller setup can be clear and you don't have to learn a heavier package.
