Collect your material in a fixed folder and first make a short trial mount. Check at export resolution, aspect ratio and sound.
Privacy
You can work locally with your recordings. Check which voices, notifications and personal details are in view or sound. A project folder may contain unused recordings that you do not mean to publish. Therefore share an export if the recipient does not need full source files.
Good to know
Large projects and effects can require a lot of memory. A project refers to source files; so keep them when you mount them.
Please note
Do not move used media randomly after saving the project. Heavy codecs, large images and effects can require more than your computer can smoothly preview. Check the final file separately: a buggering preview and an error in export are not the same problem.

OpenShot is suitable if you want to bring videos, photos and audio together on a timeline. You can cut, make transitions and change keyframe properties. That gives enough space for a mounted explanation or reminder video. Start with a clear assembly; adding many effects does not automatically make a story clearer and burden the preview extra.
Choose OpenShot for an assembly of which you especially want to determine the order, titles and sound distribution. Use a sample with your real source material and desired aspect ratio. If exports fit well, this is more valuable than a long list of effects. Save used media together with the project, so that the assembly will not be incomplete when your files are moved later.
