FBackup focuses on personal files and folders. You can save a task and have it done automatically. Full backup saves data in ZIP form; a mirror job has a different setup with ordinary files. That choice determines how to look back and recover later.

Install FBackup, select a small source folder and set backup form and destination. Retrieve a trial file before expanding the automatic schedule.

The content comes to the destination you set. Secure network and cloud accounts and check which data is included by app selections or plug-ins.

FBackup's free. Backup4all is a separate paid extension with additional features.

Please note

A mirror job and an archive with previous versions are not the same. Check what remains after changing or deleting before using a task as the only spare.

This update improves planning, folder filters and ZIP backups.

A backup job may fall back on another output route if the planner fails to reach the service. Furthermore, folder filters, a crash in many excluded files and copying redirected folders in ZIP backups have been addressed.

Our verdict

FBackup suits a defined need: save fixed folders with important files without setting up a complete image package immediately. The choice between an archive and a mirror copy is more important than the amount of plug-ins included. Choose from the way you want to find something later.

Check a modified and deleted trial version at the destination. Then it becomes clear whether the task fits your purpose of preservation. If you need specific advanced features, review them in advance in the edition comparison, so that your plan doesn't depend on Backup4all unnoticed.
