AdGuard-browserextensie

The AdGuard browser extension works within a supported browser. You can activate filter lists, create exceptions per website and hide disturbing parts on a page. Since the extension does not install a full system filter, its operation is mainly limited to the browser in which you use it.

The possibilities vary between browsers and extension platforms. Especially rules on network filtering can affect what an extension can block. A website that does not work properly can be specifically excluded; it is rarely necessary to permanently disable all protection.

Filter lists contain rules for network requests and for items displayed on a page. This allows the extension to handle ads and well-known trackers within the browser in which you install it. Other programs on your computer are outside that browser protection.

If a page becomes unusable, first check whether one filter or a specific rule is the cause. An exception for a single trusted website is more targeted than disabling everything. Available features and limitations may differ between browsers and their extension platform.

Version and updates

Version 5.5.2.3 (Browser extension; roll-out is done via the relevant extension store). This release restores an empty display of user rules after updating. Also errors have been solved in MV3 rules that customize URLs and in lines that delete all query parameters. As a result, a website is no longer completely blocked by that specific error.
