The presence of a character in Unicode does not guarantee that each font can display it properly. WizKey is paid and has a trial version.

Keyboard shortcuts are especially useful for characters you need regularly but do not find directly on your keyboard. Think of names with accents or recurring symbols in text. Choose combinations that do not clash with the shortcuts of the programs you write in.
Try the characters in your final document or website. The font used must be able to display it and the receiving app must handle Unicode correctly. For occasional use, the built-in character input of your operating system can be sufficient; the added value is mainly in repetition.
Version and updates
Version 1.5.0.8 (Windows release). This release adds an extended extra key format. Also, a problem has been solved so that WizKey could not react after restarting from Windows slumber mode.

If you regularly type letters with accents or special Unicode characters, compare the shortcuts and supported characters. A small individual tool can be sufficient; a wider tool set also gives you functions for other tasks. Note conflicts with keyboard shortcuts in your text editor.

Our verdict
WizKey is especially useful when you regularly write in multiple languages or need special symbols. You will have to copy characters less often from another document. The fixed combinations become more useful as you use them more often.
For occasional accent typing, the regular keyboard settings can be sufficient. Use the trial period in your own word processor and mail program. Also check that recipients see the selected symbol correctly. For longer standard texts it is wise not to insert personal data without thought via a shortcut.
