Shutter

Shutter combines screen capture with editing for explanation and manuals. You can capture an area, window or screen and then select parts with arrows, shapes and text. A delay helps when you first want to make a menu or tooltip visible.

The built-in editor prevents you from opening a separate photo program for each flag. Use the numbering to make steps in an explanation recognizable and cut the image into what the receiver really needs to see. A complete desktop with lots of small details usually makes an instruction less clear.

The available recording functions also depend on your Linux desktop and graphical session. Therefore, test the desired recording area on your system. Local storage and uploading are different actions: check an image on personal data before using an online sharing option. For video recording you choose a different program.
