Quod Libet 4.7.1 supports Python 3.12 and requires at least Pythons 3.10. Problems with writing via symlinks have been resolved and the progress view in Ex Falso has been improved.

Our verdict

Quod Libet is interesting when your music collection does not fit well in a standard library. Think of classical music, compilations or files using your own tag fields. The freedom in searching and editing can be worth more than a nice album overview.

A small folder with songs probably doesn't require that extent. Start with one concrete task, such as aligning artist names or finding missing album tags. This will teach you how to work without immediately changing your entire collection. Especially if you keep a serious record of your metadata, Quod Libet offers a clear reason to choose.
