Who is it for?

You use qBittorrent when a trusted provider distributes files via BitTorrent and you want control over download and seeden. You don't need it for regular web links.

Getting started

Download the stable version via the project. Choose your download folder and speed limits and let out remote management if you only work on your own PC.

Privacy

Other participants can see your public IP address. Protocol encryption doesn't make you anonymous. Moreover, a web interface requires good access security and does not need to be publicly accessible.

Good to know

A torrent client does not provide anonymity: other participants can see your IP address. Availability and speed depend partly on the other peers.

Please note

Share only material for which you have permission. The developer warns of unofficial Microsoft Store versions; use the project's download route.

You get recovery for rename, double add and web interface.

  • A change that only changes capitals or lowercase letters in a filename will be made again.
  • A torrent source that is already being added is not being processed again. A crash when starting a second instance during the legal notification has been solved.
  • The web interface can add multiple torrents via one dialog and only HTTP and HTTPS links are opened from RSS articles and search results.
5.2.3

This update resolves issues including RSS intervals, tracker conversion and file names on Windows.

E-mail encoding and peer address input control have also been strengthened. The individual 5.3-beta is not the same choice as this stable edition.

qBittorrent is suitable if you want to use BitTorrent consciously with extensive control. The reliability of your downloads and your network settings remain separate responsibilities.

Determine which limits fit your connection and also look at sharing after a download is done. A completed task can continue to use upload traffic. Start with a known provider and keep the origin of files separate from the technical operation of the client. For those who hardly want to manage settings, the amount of options may be extensive. For targeted management of multiple tasks, this control gives more guidance.
