ProcWatch

ProcWatch follows processes and compares their use with rules you set. You can watch for CPU load, memory, handles, threads and window objects. Examples help to monitor common situations, such as a browser that uses more and more memory.

Notifications can come through the system tray, sound or a log file. A crossed border is an indication to investigate, not automatic proof of an error or malware. Choose limits that fit the program and normal load of your computer.

A warning is especially useful when the limit is in line with normal behaviour. A short peak when starting a program does not have to be a problem. Choose therefore limits and periods by which you can distinguish long or unexpected loads from normal activity.

Use a notification as the starting point for research. See which process was active and what you were doing at the time before you conclude that something is wrong. A context log helps more than a long set of identical notifications without obvious cause.

Version 0.0.5.0 (Windows; early development issue). Released on 13-08-2026. Active events are made clearer with marked rows and a change of the system tray icon. In addition, this edition contains minor corrections. The developer mainly publishes larger or meaningful changes at this stage.
