Kooha is a good choice when you want to quickly record something on Linux. The limited interface prevents you first from understanding a studio design. For an error message in motion or a short demonstration, that is often exactly enough.

The technical dependence of your desktop remains relevant. Check a trial recording for image, cursor and sound before you start a long explanation. If you need multiple sources, scenes or extensive editing, you run into the demarcation faster. Choose Kooha for simplicity and short recordings; use a more extensive recorder when your production requires more preparation and control.
