A mobile backup is only usable when you know where the copy is and how to retrieve files. Therefore make a small first copy and check it for the chosen purpose. Please note the amount of material and available space in photos.
A phone that goes offline or loses access to a destination may interrupt a transfer. Check the task status before clearing files on the device. Preferably store irreplaceable photos at more than one independent storage location.

CCC Mobile is especially interesting when you want to save photos outside a cloud service. The choice between your Mac, a network drive and connected storage gives you space to set up your own process.
First check that the desired photos are actually located locally on your device. Then open some files from the destination before deleting anything. To recover your entire phone you also need a separate device backup; for example, a collection of photos and documents does not automatically contain all the settings on your apps.
