You can select multiple databases with name "Life" patterns and get recovery for database and command hooks.

  • For PostgreSQL, MariaDB and MySQL you can specify database name with jokers, for example users_*, so that you don't have to configure appropriate databases separately.
  • Also --data source on recovery accepts patterns.
  • Soft-failure codes of command hooks are again respected. The MongoDB hook is working again without a password. Check your statistics setting: the old boolean options will be replaced by one named institution.

You get additional management options and corrections for databases, ZFS and progress view.

Version 2.1.7 adds quick-stats for prune to appropriate Borg 1 versions. Also, database restoration with standard ports, ZFS snapshot operation and the progress of compact have been corrected.

Our verdict

bailmatic is especially useful when you already use Borg and your process starts to grow out of individual assignments. A configuration file shows which sources, controls and retention periods belong together. This helps in reproducibility and transferable management.

It doesn't automatically make a backup plan correct. Read the options, check the used Borg version and test recovery after changes. Add database hooks or monitoring only if the base works. For a single manual backup, depositmatic can be unnecessary. For a recurring technical backup with clear rules, it can precisely give the structure that a set of scripts is missing.
