The app is aimed at X desktops. Don't expect the same operation to work in a native Wayland session.

A fixed window layout can help when you compare information or work from multiple programs. Choose a pattern that fits screen size and number of windows. A layout with too many small compartments makes text more difficult to read.

X Tile is useful if your X11 desktop does not offer a suitable tile layout. Choose a small number of windows and test the available patterns. First check if your current desktop already has the same built-in. On Wayland, a desktop solution is often more appropriate than an old X11 tool.
