A good scan starts with a right document and appropriate resolution. For plain text you need different settings than for small details or photos. After each series check that pages are complete, readable and in the correct order.
Save important originals until you have checked the PDF and stored it safely. A scan is not automatically searchable text, which requires text recognition. Test first if your scanner and driver work well with the program.

Version 9.77. Released on 07-06-2026. WinScan2PDF 9.77 improves the detection of certain scanners. Language files and supporting parts have also been updated. After the update check the page order and quality of a short trial scan.

WinScan2PDF is suitable if you want to digitize a form or letter occasionally. Check order, orientation and readability before saving. Choose sufficient quality for small text, but do not make the output unnecessarily heavy. For searchable archives, you also need a suitable OCR step.
