PDFsam Basic

You can use this to bundle documents, extract attachments and divide large PDFs. It fits structured page operations. For text recognition, full content editing or other functions from paid PDFsam products you need to make a separate choice.

First, make a small trial with two documents. Check the output file before applying the same settings to a complete folder.

PDFsam Basic processes the documents on your computer and does not need to upload them for these tasks. When merging, please note which personal data are included in the total file from individual attachments. Also check the storage folder and who has access to the end file.

Basic is intended for merging and splitting. Other PDFsam products with extended machining functions may be paid for.

Page numbers in your edit may differ from the printed numbering in a document with prework. Therefore check the actual pages. An amendment to a signed PDF may affect the validity of the document signature. Keep such originals unchanged next to your working copy.

PDFsam Basic is a targeted choice if you want to split, merge, rotate or select pages. You set an edit and control page ranges. That's useful for returning files. The free Basic edition is not a general editor to rewrite existing paragraphs; keep that limit when comparing the product family.

PDFsam Basic fits if you want to work based on clear file tracking and page ranges. Enter the source files identifiable names and also check the boundary between two merged pieces. If you need a visual overview to review pages one by one, let that preference take into account. For substantive text changes, selection and merge functions are not the right solution.
