Version 2.6.1 · Open source · Windows
Error Lookup searches for explanations on different types of Windows codes, including system, DirectX and network errors. You enter a code and get the corresponding text.
The description provides context, but does not automatically tell which program caused the error or how to fix it.
Get more from Error Lookup
An error code has meaning within the app or system function that has given it. Please also note the full report and what you did just before. A description helps with searching, but is not automatically a complete diagnosis.
Check that you enter the code in the correct notation, for example decimal or hexadecimal. Compare the outcome with the context. For example, a general message about access can have several causes, from rights to an unreachable location.
Version and updates
Version 2.6.1 (Windows issue). This maintenance release recovers support for Windows 7 and Windows 8. In addition, the display in the dark theme and the development environment used have been updated. Our verdict
Error Lookup helps with an error message that only displays a number. Take over the full code and write down what you did when the error appeared. Use the statement to continue searching in the documentation of the respective app. The same error number without the correct code group can be interpreted differently.
