Satig can link WinUSB, libusb-win32 and libusbK to a chosen USB device. That's useful when an app needs a driver like that.

Another driver can stop the original manufacturer software from working. Therefore, select exactly the intended device.

A generic USB driver is intended for apps that appeal to a device in this way. Choose exactly the right device and check which driver the app asks. A wrong replacement can cause other software to stop recognizing the device.

Write down the original driver and keep a recovery route available. Do not use Zadig as a general driver updater. It is a targeted tool for a specific combination of device and app.

Version 2.9. Released on 13-06-2024. Sat 2.9 adds installation support for the ARM64 version of libusb-win32. Windows 10 1511 or newer with 32-bit x86 emulation is required. Still carefully check which USB device you select.

Our verdict

Zadig is suitable if your app manual explicitly asks a libusb or WinUSB driver. First write down the device and the current driver. Do not use it as a general driver updater. For normal peripherals, replacing the driver does not provide any obvious advantage.
