You can deal with characters more extensively and use new travel and movement options.

Veloren 0.18.0 adds two-way conversations with NPCs and allows you to temporarily hire an NPC. Airships travel between places and you can jump off walls. In addition, music and instruments are extensive. The launcher can now offer a newer continuous build.

Veloren is attractive if you are curious about an open game that is visible in development. The world and fights give you something to discover, while you can follow how the project continues to grow. That requires a different expectation than with a finished game.

Play it especially to explore the current possibilities. Do not build up expectations about permanent saves or a fully elaborate campaign without checking the status of your server. If stability and predictable progress are more important than experimentation, you should wait for further development. For curious players, this open growth can be part of the fun.
