The Dark Mod is an independent stealth game with a dark, historical fantasy environment. You're trying to achieve goals without being unnecessarily seen or heard. Missions are offered separately and differences in length, difficulty and style.

You don't need a Doom 3 purchase to play the current independent version. Download the base and then choose missions. Because much content is made by the community, quality and system load can vary per mission.

You like to sneak around, observe and plan quietly instead of constantly shooting.

Getting started

Use the official installer to retrieve the base and then add a suitable first mission.

Privacy

You can play missions locally. Retrieving updates and missions connects to the servers used for that purpose.

Good to know

Missions are delivered separately and may have different requirements and difficulties. The base is without using Doom 3.

Please note

Check mission requirements and create multiple saves. A large or complex mission can require more from your computer than the basic installation.

The Dark Mod 2.14 improves AI visibility and prevents certain AI crashers after frequent storage. Overlap in HUD and inventory and a problem with totemapping in menus have also been addressed.

Save at multiple times, so an error doesn't cost much progress. Anyone who expects a tight commercial campaign, gets something else here.
