Photoflare Community Edition focuses on photo editing that you regularly need: create a cut-out, adjust dimensions, correct colors and use filters. The tools are in a traditional desktop interface. You don't need to set up a complete design environment before preparing an image for a document or website.

For recurring operations batch processing is available. This allows you to handle multiple images according to the same settings. Work on a first attempt with copies and view some results at true size. A reduction or strong correction is not always suitable for each file in the same folder.

The name Photoflare is also used for other products. This download is about the free, open-source Community Edition. PhotoFlare Studio is a separate product with extensive layers work; PhotoFlares Lens focuses on RAW photos. So don't expect those additional functions automatically in this release.

Who is it for?

You want to crop, reduce or customize images in a range and you don't need an extended layer buildup. The Dutch translation also makes the Community Edition accessible if you prefer not to work with English menu leaflets.

Getting started

Choose Community Edition on the official download page. For Windows, an MSI installation and an official portable ZIP are available; Linux and Apple silicon have separate packages.

Privacy

You edit files on your own computer. Choose where to save the results and check that your output folder is synchronized with a cloud service before putting private photos in it.

Our verdict

Photoflare is especially useful when you are looking for a clear editor for daily image corrections and repeated operations. Batch processing is the most important added value when you regularly need many images in the same format. For complex compositions with layers or a complete RAW method, you should choose another program. The Community Edition prevents an unnecessarily heavy package for simple jobs, as long as you have clear in advance what functions you are actually using. Always save operations in a new folder if you want to keep the originals.
