Ludusavi

Make backup copies of your saved games with Ludusavi. You store progress from different game stores in one place.

Your saved games are often spread across document folders, hidden profile folders and the Windows registry. Ludusavi looks up known storage locations and helps you back up the progress found. You can use collections from Steam, GOG, Epic, Heroic and Lutris.

In advance, you will see which games and data are included. If a game is missing, you can add your own rule. The program also supports Steam screenshots and saved games used via Proton. For example, you are less dependent on whether an individual game offers cloud storage.

You can work through the window or automate commands with the command line. The locations found come from a tracked game manifest. Therefore, make sure that a new game or a different installation folder is properly recognized. A successful scan does not yet say that every self-chosen modmap has been recorded.

Who is it for?

You play on a PC or Steam Deck and want to save progress before deleting a game, reinstalling your computer or switching devices.

Getting started

Unpack the official archive for your system and start Ludusavi. Select a backup folder on another drive, have your game collections scan and check the found games before making the first copy.

Privacy

You can save your backups locally. Use your cloud backup, then you decide the storage service. Savegames may also contain profile names or other personal data.

Good to know

Not every game or custom modmap is automatically found. A backup of savegames does not automatically contain the full installed game.

Please note

Before resetting, check which storage file you overwrite. First, close the game so it doesn't write data while making a backup or restoring it.

Our verdict

Ludusavi is useful in addition to the cloud storage of your game store, precisely because you keep your own copy of your progress. The ability to view the scan and add its own locations is more important than a high number of supported games. Before reinstallation, take time to check a recovery action. For your documents and a full system backup, you also need a wider backup program.
