With FairEmail you manage multiple email accounts on Android and determine how messages, images and links are loaded.

FairEmail is an email client for Android that works with existing mail accounts. You can add multiple accounts and view messages in a shared view. The app is not a provider of a new email address: you will continue to use the mail server of your provider, employer or own domain.

The focus is on control over messages and privacy. External images can return information to a sender when they are loaded. FairEmail makes you more conscious about such content and links in messages. This does not replace caution in phishing, but helps to retrieve remote data less automatically.

The institutions have been extended. You can tune notifications, synchronization and presentation of messages to your usage. Some functions are part of the paid Pro expansion. Therefore, check the options you need in advance. For a working account, the server must also provide a supported mail protocol and allowed login method; a closed business environment does not work automatically with every mail client.

You use Android and want to manage multiple mail accounts with a lot of influence on privacy and settings. FairEmail fits if you prefer to choose how messages are displayed rather than leaving everything to default settings.

Getting started

Install the desired Android release via the official website. First add one account, send a trial message and then check notifications and external content settings.

Privacy

FairEmail connects to your mail provider. So your provider remains involved in the storage and delivery of mail. Limiting external images reduces certain tracking, but does not automatically encrypt ordinary email end-to-end.

FairEmail is especially suitable when you want to consciously handle the content that an email automatically loads. The extended settings give you space, but also take time. Start with one account and set notifications and external images properly before you go through all the options. For a simple mailbox without special requirements, a more sober client can be easier. If you want to manage multiple accounts and privacy choices accurately, the extra equipment makes sense.
