Looking for an alternative to Beeper?Compare Ferdium.Compare alternativesBeeper gives you one place for conversations from different supported networks. You connect the corresponding accounts and then can switch between separate chat apps less often. Which functions are available depends on the linked service and the connection method.
Not every function of an original app is automatically taken over. Mostly check calls, attachments, message editing and group functions that you frequently use. Linking chat accounts deserves extra attention, because messages and login data are processed via the chosen integration.

One call list can give an overview when your contacts use different chat services. The possibilities remain dependent on the connection to each individual service. Group functions, attachments and login can therefore work differently per network.
After linking, check whether messages and notifications are coming in on the expected devices. Keep the original app available as long as you evaluate the connection. One central inbox is useful, but you also need to know which service and account you send a message through.
Version and updates
Version 4.3.113 (Desktop release; Android is updated separately). This desktop update recovers a problem with On-Device Facebook connections. For Android, 4.57.0 is also available, with the choice of language for transcription of voice messages and clearer explanation in case of failed transmission. The version numbers of desktop and Android are not interchangeable.
Compare Beeper with alternatives
A collection app for messages does not replace the underlying services. Check which networks are supported, how your accounts are linked and where notifications and sessions are stored. Especially with encrypted services, the way of linking can make up for your choice.

Our verdict
Beeper is especially interesting when you use multiple chat services every day and therefore easily lose sight of messages. A joint inbox can give an overview, but only if your main networks and features are well supported.
First connect one less critical account and review notifications, attachments and synchronization. In addition, check how the selected connection is handled with encryption and storage. Keep the original app available when a link fails. For one chat service, a collector app usually adds less than for a distributed conversation summary.
